II Conference of Young Scientists at Skoltech 2023
II Conference “Genomics, Metagenomics and Molecular Biology of Microorganisms”
The Skolkovo Institute of Science and Technology hosted the conference of young scientists “Genomics, Metagenomics and Molecular Biology of Microorganisms”. The conference was held for the second time. The program included plenary lectures by invited scientists, oral and poster presentations by participants.
Invited scientists M.S. Gelfand, A.V. Kulbachinsky, A.B. Trofimova, A.B. Isaev, and O.V. Musharova delivered plenary lectures.
The conference program was opened by Dr. Andrei Vladimirovich Kulbachinsky, PhD, Professor, Corresponding Member of the Russian Academy of Sciences, with a lecture “Argonaut proteins and innate immunity systems in prokaryotes”.

Artem Borisovich Isaev, Ph.D. in Biology and Head of the Laboratory of Metagenome Analysis, gave a lecture on the second day entitled “Arms Race - Diversity of Bacterial Systems of Antiviral Immunity”.

Olga Sergeevna Musharova, Ph.D. in Biology, spoke about the application of CRISPR-editors in medicine.

In addition to lectures from invited scholars, eleven oral presentations and thirty-eight poster presentations were presented at the conference. The conference was attended by speakers and trainees from more than 30 different universities and research institutes.
The expert committee selected six best posters and three best oral presentations. Participants with the best papers received prizes from our partners Algimed Techno, SkyGen and Biolabmix.
